GE (NYSE: GE), based in Fairfield, said the center will includea $100 milliomn GE research and development facility that will be part of GE Global Research is based in Niskayuna, a suburhb of Schenectady. The center is expected to reach 1,109 employees in the next few years, the compan said. The center is expected to openthis year. It will be located at the Visteon Village site in Van Buren about 25 milesfrom Detroit. The research and development facilityh will be housed in anew 100,000-square-foog building that GE will construcgt on the site.
