SoHo will open at 80 S. Pauahik Street in a renovated 5,500 square-foot space that will includs a bar and an area forlive performances. The Pauahi Streeg location, between Bethel Streety and Fort Street Mall andnear , was occupied by Mall Cafe untikl April. That bar had been cited by the Honolulu Liquodr Commission in recent monthsz for unsanitary conditions and foroverserving alcohol. The commission also receivede a petition from community members opposing the renewalp ofMall Cafe’s license because of alleged drug dealing and frequent fights. Mall Cafe’s former Saiming Corp.
, had been trying to transfere its liquor license tothe landlord, Union Mill SoHo owner Daniel former general manager of the Loft Gallerty and Lounge on Hotel said he was approached by Union Mill Investment to open a new venuer in the spot. Gray plans to open part of thelounge 3,000 square feet — for this month’s First Fridat event downtown, and open the remaining space in Gray describes the new venue as a mix of performances, fashion and photography in a trendg and upscale setting. The SoHo name stemxs from the New York City neighborhood and a blend of and “Honolulu”.
